Mondays with Martha

Well, here we go again. Another American woman's body has vanished in Aruba. Robyn Gardner met Gary Giordano on Match.com. He offered her a free trip to Aruba. On 7/31/11, away they went. Two days later she went missing. According to her girlfriend and roommate, Christina Jones, Robyn knew that Giordano had a history of domestic violence. However, as many women do, she believed his explanation.
It appears she was murdered by him. Earlier that day they were seen at a bar drinking. Robyn was woozy. A couple of hours later they went snorkeling? No snorkeling equipment was rented or purchased for her. He said the currents were strong and he told her to swim to shore. He said he didn't look back as he was interested in saving his own life. What a guy! He had taken out a 1.5 million dollar accidental death insurance policy on her. He laid claim to it two days after he reported her missing..
Natalee Holloway disappeared in 2005. Her body was never found. The consensus is that Joran van der Sloot killed her. She, a senior in high school on a graduating class trip succumbed to his charms. Robyn Gardner, a 35 year old woman succumbed to Giordano's charms. It seems she didn't want to look a gifthorse in the mouth. Maybe, she just wanted to get away.
Ladies, please don't jump into things. I know there is something intriguing and exciting about the Bad Boy. I've had my own experience with that. But it can be a dangerous affair. It can be emotionally hurtful.
The nice guy is out there. Who knows, he may just be at the next Martha's Singles event.
The fun starts this Fall.

Mondays with Martha

A rainy weekend and possible showers until Wednesday has me pondering a few things.
Being single in today's world isn't always what it's cracked up to be. These days it is rare that  people are introduced to each other by friends or family. Many are transplants having moved away to other states where they attended college, or relocated for an employment opportunity , etc.
It's harder to make romantic connections. Yes, it's the social media age. Some sit at their computers looking through on-line dating sites. Some go out to places but aren't meeting available or compatible singles. Some just stay at home and watch TV.
Whether you're single never married, legally separated, divorced or widowed,  my events offer fun venues where you're sure to have a great time.
So introduce yourself to the social scene and possibly someone new!
The fun starts this Fall.
